Ivi and Slovko

Slovko is the cousin to Fani and both are second cousins to Ron, Lindsey, and Jean Anne.

Our Hosts

Mača, Tanya, Fani, & Milan Zupančič live in Horjul and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Their house is in the back ground. The family had blue eyes. I found a high percentage of Slovenes had blue eyes

Ya'll look wonderful

Old Church

We drove to the top of of the hill and walked to see this very old church. The view was magnificent.

Good Night

I took this on the way back to the hotel. This is the last night in Ljubljana--a city that you could safely and easily stay out all night. There is more to follow. See you soon. Rotc

Slavko made us all happy with his wine. Karen and I decided the red wine was very pleasing. Red wine was offered at every home.

What a yummy picture. The cousins grew up loving Potica and this was home made.

Every family makes their own wine and were very proud to share it with us. Slovko is pouring Jean Anne a glass.

Visit in Horjul

Fani Zupančič welcomed us to visit the Dolenc home. Milan, Fani and their cousins showed us their beautiful country

Monday, 28 May 2010, time to say bye to the Island.

Union Beer

Slovenija makes two beers and Union is one. Lasko is the other beer. We are still trying to make up our minds as to which is best.

Meet the Family

We met at dinner to meet the cousins. There were 16 Novak Cousins who traveled to Slovenija. This is the young and beautiful part of our group.

Triglav

Triglav is the highest peak in Slovenia. The image of Triglav is pictured on the Slovenian flag

Ski Slope

We felt at home. There was a ski slope at the top of the mountain.

Lake Bohinj

Lake Bohinj is the biggest Lake In Slovenija.

Gondola Ride

Jorgi drove us to Vogel Mountain at Lake Bohinj to ride the Gondola to the top.

Slovenija is known for the Hay drying racks.

While driving down the mountain it started to rain. The clouds covered our beautiful peaks.

Look at the color of that water. It's the limestone river bed and clean, mostly snow melt water that makes it that color.

Lindsey Bullock, Greg and I met Jorgi at Lake Bled. Jorgi met us in the Hotel 7:00 on Sunday 27 May 2010. He took our group for a fabulous trip to the Julian Alps.

At the Hall of Fame of Franciscan monks are pictured all the monks that were elected Popes. This poor guy died the day he was elected.
